Ginga Cottage

I am absolutely thrilled to focus this post on a BRILLIANT woman owned business. I am honored to personally know the owner and cannot wait to show you the delicious juice they make with love and care. <3 You will only find healthy ingredients in their delicious juice which makes it both delicious and nutritious! <3 Drink healthy and your body always thanks you for it. Let's take a look at Ginga Cottage....

Ginga Cottage is a juice company based in Houston, Tx that offers an alternative to sugary drinks. They believe that everything is left better in it's natural state and their juice contains NO artificial flavors or preservatives! Ginga Cottage's Ginga Beeya juice is packed with vitamins, minerals and made with ingredients known to be medicinal across cultures for centuries (Ginger Root, Lime Juice, Tamarind, and Cloves.) Ginga Cottage cares about our planet as much as they care about the people they share it with…so, all their bottles are Eco-Friendly and they purchase their produce from fair-trade distributors/vendors who empower farmers locally and across the globe. With each purchase, you are also supporting education, mental health programs, and other community empowerment initiatives in Africa, Haiti, and the U.S. So go ahead, drink naturally, because it really does make a world of a difference.

I first tasted their Ginga Beeya juice on a photo shoot with the owner. My energy levels were low and I had been going through a bit of health issues at the time. As we were setting up for our shots, Aisha brings out some Ginga Cottage Ginga Beeya in a bottle and hands it to me. She informs me of it's contents and I start drinking as we continue finding shooting spots for our photo session. I absolutely LOVED the taste! As we went along our photo session and I kept drinking, I felt a lil pep in my step... a lil more energized. It was a wonderful surprise! <3

Some Fun Facts about the ingredients in Ginga Cottage's Ginga Beeya Juice:

  • The polyphenols in tamarind have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. These can protect against diseases such as heart disease, cancer and diabetes.

  • Just 1–1.5 grams of ginger can help prevent various types of nausea. This applies to sea sickness, chemotherapy-related nausea, nausea after surgery, and morning sickness.

  • Ginger has been shown to be effective against exercise-induced muscle pain. In one study, consuming 2 grams of ginger per day, for 11 days, significantly reduced muscle pain in people performing elbow exercises. Ginger does not have an immediate impact, but may be effective at reducing the day-to-day progression of muscle pain. These effects are believed to be mediated by the anti-inflammatory properties.

  • Chronic indigestion (dyspepsia) is characterized by recurrent pain and discomfort in the upper part of the stomach. It is believed that delayed emptying of the stomach is a major driver of indigestion. Interestingly, ginger has been shown to speed up emptying of the stomach in people with this condition. After eating soup, ginger reduced the time it took for the stomach to empty from 16 to 12 minutes. In a study of 24 healthy individuals, 1.2 grams of ginger powder before a meal accelerated emptying of the stomach by 50%.

  • Limes are high in vitamin C, providing over 20% of your daily needs. They also contain small amounts of iron, calcium, vitamin B6, thiamine, potassium, and more.

  • Limes may help improve immunity, reduce heart disease risk factors, prevent kidney stones, aid iron absorption, promote healthy skin, and lower your risk of certain cancers.

  • Cloves are the flower buds of the clove tree, an evergreen also known as Syzygium aromaticum. In addition to containing several important vitamins and minerals, cloves are rich in antioxidants. Antioxidants, including eugenol, which can help reduce oxidative stress.

  • Studies have shown that the compounds in cloves may help promote insulin production and lower blood sugar.
